| This band of cranes is busy building a new Digital Arts Center at the Presidio of San Francisco. It will stand where once stood a rather non-descript U.S. Army Hospital. The original Letterman Hospital is to remain intact. Because, by mandate, the Presidio must become self-sustaining, if not a profit center, certain compromises will, undoubtedly, have to be made.
