A Red-tailed Hawk
The Red-tailed Hawk hops from one branch to another during long stays on the old-growth pine.  At times these movements are to seek shade if too warm or sunshine for warmth when the air is cold.  At other times the purpose of such movements is to ward off enemies such as Crows.
