Winter is a great time for San Franciscans to enjoy their city -- good weather days and few tourists.  Most pictures here were taken during a February 2006 morning at Pier 39, Fishermen's Wharf.  We see Spring flowers which brighten up the Wharf.  Also featured are the Sea Lions of Pier 39.  Enjoy the Sea Lions pictured here in a Video by City Birds.  The gallery concludes with some beautiful Winter clouds at sunset and twilight.  Gallery Thirty-one was first published March 19, 2006 by City Birds.

Fort Winfield Scott is located on the western side of the Presidio of San Francisco.  Its primary function was command of the coastal artillery batteries protecting the San Francisco area.  Photo Gallery 32 shows buildings from each period of the Fort's service.  The pictures were taken during two visits.  The first visit was during a sunny day.  The second visit was during a more typical gray, foggy day.  Included are examples of coastal battery ruins.  Photo Gallery Thirty-two was first published April 19, 2006 by City Birds.

Missión San Francisco de Asís, aka Mission Dolores, is, along with the Presidio, where the post-Native American history of San Francisco begins.  The very week our Declaration of Independence was being signed, Missión San Francisco was founded.  Gallery 33 highlights the Mission and adjoining Cemetery and Basilica.  On a warm, sunny morning, the Mission is a place for moments of quiet peace within a fast, noisy city.  On a dark, cloudy day, the place is enchanting.  Photo Gallery Thirty-three was first published May 25, 2006 by City Birds.

During the last week of May 2006, leading up to the long Memorial Day weekend the weather here in San Francisco was great.  So we played tourist with many visitors from around the world.  Gallery Thirty-four begins with pictures of the East side of Fort Mason known as Black Point.  The West side of the Fort was covered in Gallery Nine.  From Fort Mason we walked along Russian Hill.  We include some of the City's more famous views from the Hill.  We wrapped up our holiday at LaFayette Park.  Photo Gallery Thirty-four was first published June 22, 2006 by City Birds.
